A Work in Progress

The Interfaith Center Continues to be a Work in Progress

  • Established in October 2002, The Rose and Joseph Denaro Interfaith Center for the Study of Genocide and Violence Prevention is a 501 © 3 nonprofit organization. It is a member of the Association of Holocaust Organizations.
  • The Interfaith Center functions as an Academic Resource Center. It is currently located at the Bishop Kearney High School Library in Rochester, New York. During library hours, The Interfaith Center is available for student/faculty research, reflective study and small group discussions.
  • The website at www.denarocenter.org highlights events created for teachers, students, parents, interested people and allied professionals: school guidance counselors, physicians, nurses, psychologists and social workers. The topics include all educational levels: PreK-12, undergraduate, graduate and life-long learning. Events are of interest to public policymakers, government agencies and community-based organizations that serve children, youth and adults.
  • Members of the community are invited to visit and/or utilize the Interfaith Center's academic facilities by contacting Dr. Alan O'Grady Cuseo for an appointment at acuseo@bkhs.org.
  • In September 2007, The Genocide Studies Academic Program was launched as an interdisciplinary component of The Interfaith Center.  Dr. Esther Denaro Maltese is the teacher-mentor and the “Scholar in Residence” for this innovative program.
